hand on chest,

over my heart, i promise you are intact.you are whole
enough
and not broken.

You are not broken, you are not broken, you are not broken, you are not broken.

The world is broken, and — brace yourself, because here’s the kicker — it was made broken. Society's opinion of beauty and its views on women, gender, love, success and money all are broken. Not you, never you. You are the most whole thing in your world.

All the things that stole our value, worth, potential, self-esteem, confidence, and beauty live outside of our bodies. They don't live inside of us. Inside is goodness, empathy, compassion, love, wisdom, perseverance, tenacity and authenticity — everything we need to be the grandest version of ourselves. But this world was made so that only a small population could dominate. They built fragile structures that only lifted them up. If we tried to climb their ladders, we would fall because that is how they made THEIR ladders. And, truth be told, you don't want to go up their ladders. They lead to places that we don't want to be.

We don't even need ladders. We just need our feet, our hearts and our minds. We have everything in here to live out our dreams. The trick is in navigating a broken world with our intact selves.

The world needs a change in conversation. It requires leadership, wisdom, love and empathy. It needs redirection. Some people deserve our anger, but the spirit of humanity needs our redirection — our whole gracious selves. It must witness our nos, boundaries, self-respect, grace and grit. It needs to learn how to love ... for the first time.

We have to change the conversation about this broken world. This world has tricked us into believing we are wrong and that we need to change how we operate on the outside to bring peace, love and beauty to our insides.

We need to heal. Healing is learning to love and advocate for yourself. Healing means developing boundaries, nurturing yourself, and living your truth. It requires being authentic even though people may disagree, reject and leave you. How will you remind yourself it's not you? It's what they were taught and what they believe.
